The most important difference between the Turkish and American education systems is that professional majors such as medicine and law start at the undergraduate level in Turkey. Otherwise, the systems are quite similar. Turkey has a 4 year bachelor's degree although it has participated in the Bologna Process, especially in terms of standardization and giving graduating students a 'Diploma Supplement', which is an official document describing the courses taken in detail.
