Details about the Grant
The maximum grant awarded to students is 35,000 USD per academic year, including tuition and living expenses.
The Commission also covers the return airfare and health insurance for students.
Those selected are responsible for obtaining a passport and a visa, although the visa fees are waived for Fulbright grantees. Those who are not able to get a passport or visa can not receive a Fulbright grant.
Upon completion of the program the grantee must fulfill the J-1 visa requirement (2 year home residency). Grantees can not apply for citizenship or a Green Card during those two years, but are allowed to apply for a tourist visa.
